Mihi mai ki a Rosemary Rangitauira.
Our strategic communications consultant hails from Murupara and affiliates to the three marae above. They are Rangitahi, Painoaiho (both in Murupara) and Waikotikoti Marae (Te Whāiti).
Of Ngāti Manawa, Ngāti Whare, and Ngāti Whakaue descent, Rosemary is a former journalist and broadcaster. She has devoted service at Te Arawa FM in Rotorua and Tumeke FM in Whakatāne before moving to RNZ in Wellington to work as a reporter. While there, a highlight of her radio career was leading a proposal, with the help of colleagues, to establish a dedicated Māori news service, primarily delivered in English, called Te Manu Korihi.
Nowadays she's taken a shine to providing communications support. Rosemary is a former Ministerial press secretary and political party press secretary and has also worked in local government as a senior communications advisor.
